(More customer reviews)I put this together over about a week of lunch hours, probably about 3 hours to assemble. Directions were clear and easy to understand. I heard nothing but some white noise when I first powered it up, but my workstation is below ground. As soon as I stepped outside I started hearing planes. The closer planes were the loudest. It worked first time, with no additional tuning or tweaking needed.
I used it on my last vacation, from inside a plane you'll only hear your own pilot, but it's pretty interesting. It's a completely passive design and emits zero RF, so it is perfectly safe for in-flight use. After about 20 hours of listening, I am still on my first battery, so battery life is good as well. I can recommend this, if it's the kind of thing you're looking for.
