(More customer reviews)I upgraded from the fi-4220c2 to the fi-6240. I was happy with the 4220 but with my upgrade to Windows 7, learned that the fi-4220c2 had no Windows 7 drivers and was discontinued. So after 5 long years of reliable use, the fi-4220c2 got retired and I ordered the fi-6240.
Wow. The 6240 is a vast improvement:
Faster, much faster. This thing just rips through documents.
Handles a stack of varied documents (envelopes, cards, letters) with ease - no misfeeds at all.
Produces cleaner, sharper images, which produces better OCR results.
This thing is a workhorse and thoroughbred combined. I couldn't be happier and look forward to putting this scanner through its paces for years to come.
