(More customer reviews)I tried other slide scanners before purchasing the Ion PICS2PC and returned them all for one reason or another, especially poor software performance. This is the best scanner I have tried and I am keeping it. I already converted 50 slides the first day and the results are satisfactory. I am, however, disappointed in one thing: the slide tray, which accepts 3 slides, has a lock which is hard to open. I feel I am wasting a lot of time trying to open it while loading and unloading the slides. I have thousands of slides to convert and this will cause the longest delay in the process. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium and the software is working very well, the best I have tried. I have not yet used the trays for the slide film or three photo trays. I believe the all have the same locking feature. I may try to purchase an extra slide tray from Ion, depending on the price, and have my wife load and unload slides while I am scanning. This should help speed up the process. Otherwise, Ion did a nice job designing this scanner.
