(More customer reviews)I am using this for a line of sight connection to a printer and scanner -- about 8 feet away. It has a desk stand with cable for the dongle which (avoids having to put a huge dongle in a USB slot) and (b) lets you position the dongle / transmitter optimally. Once connection is established it works fine. If you disconnect the power you usually need to run the software app to re-establish connection -- inconvenient but no big deal. I think the negative reviews might reflect expecting too much from the product -- in a relatively undemanding environment it works fine -- if you want to go 30 feet , or with significant obstacles in the way, you will probably be disappointed.
