I borrowed a film/slide scanner from a friend and was very displeased with the results. Images were soft, color was off and unless you hit the button at just the right time, the image would be washed out. So I bought the SVP Film Scanner and what a difference. The images are crisp and the color is right on. I am very pleased. The only drawback, if you can call it that, is that you must scan the film or slides into the scanner, and then via usb connection, import them into your computer. You cannot go directly to your computer as you scan your film or slides. No great shakes, just 2 steps instead of one. But as I said, the quality of the images is great and I'd recommend this scanner very highly to anyone.
