(More customer reviews)I needed a new scanner when my old one died (a mechanical fault of some kind) and settled on this one after a bit of searching the Internet. It is less expensive than other similar size scanners and so far it has performed well. I wanted the larger size to accommodate books laying flat so I could scan two pages at once. Mechanically the scanner is fairly fast but as is all too typical with Windows software, I run into problems at times, usually due to the software (Paper Port 11) not managing memory as efficiently as it should. I haven't used the software that came with the scanner except for some test images saved as PNG's for my next project, so perhaps I should try that for the book scanning as well. All in all, I am quite happy with the scanner.
