That is not to say that the J5750 is the sturdiest or most reliable HP product I've ever owned. It is not. The simple HP1012 and 1200 printers, for example, easily outpace the J5750 on both counts. But then they don't shoot for the same degree of difficulty as the all-in-one does, either.
You don't get wireless capability with this J5750, which is a liability. But you get excellent black-and-white and full-color output at a very, very good upfront price (prepare yourself for the considerable ongoing expense of keeping your Officejet stocked with printer cartridges).
I don't find the software as intuitive as I'd expect from HP, but it gives you lots of options for scanning. The optical character recognition (OCR) capability makes my Mac freeze up when applied to a pdf document. I get around this by scanning to other kinds of documents.
The real story with this machine is the astonishing range of capacity you get for your small office in exchange for just a few fists-full of hundred dollar bills. This Officejet is a solid choice for your home office.
