I have it connected to multiple computers and I have also connected this product to a USB hub with multiple printers so I can print from any one of the computers to the printer that I select. It comes with software, but it works without the software for Windows XP and Vista Operating Systems. Although it is not an automatic switch, the manual switch works great for what it does. It's awesome!!!!

Once I called tech support, I was able to properly find and select the right printer driver on my PC. It is wonderful to be able to send documents to the same printer from both my Mac and PC and not have to go over and either manually select the printer or change cables. This product is very solid without odd idiosyncrasies to deal with.

(More customer reviews)This is a convenient way to switch a drive between two PCs. Just to be clear, it does NOT connect the drive to both PCs at the same time.
The software utility loads and its icon sits in the taskbar on each PC/laptop. To switch, just click on the icon on the PC you want to switch the drive to, and select ok. That PC 'pulls' the USB connection from the other PC, and Windows detects it has the USB drive connected, just as with any other USB drive when you plug it into a USB port. The other PC similarly detects the USB drive has been 'unplugged'.

Went on Amazon, ran across this plastic item 4 inches high 1-1/2 wide at a really low price. To make a long story short, ordered it, installed, and WOW, it worked like a charm, you won't be sorry.
