Asus Eee PC 900SD-BLK009X Netbook Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this netbook last week, and I'm very happy with it. It's not very powerful, but it's perfectly suitable for light web browsing. The screen is a bit small, but it's usable after removing the status bar and bookmarks toolbar in Firefox. The keyboard is surprisingly easy to adjust to. The most annoying part is the odd placement of the home and end keys. The SSD is pretty small (only 8GB), but is fine for the intended purpose: web browsing. I wiped Windows XP and installed 8.10, which recognized all of the hardware automatically.

(More customer reviews)I got this item specifically because it says it has a mini-plug that will work with a XOOM. When it arrived, I didn't see anything resembling a mini-plug, just the standard USB. I emailed and asked and was told that the item does NOT come with the mini-usb plug. In other words, it did not have the one feature that motivated me to buy it; I wanted to have the option of connecting my XOOM to a printer or other device. That's what the product description indicated I would be able to do with it, but the product description is incorrect. I hate to leave a negative review, but facts are facts; this will not connect to a XOOM or device that requires a mini-USB plug.

(More customer reviews)I bought the Payware Mobile swiper through the Apple store for the same price ($149). It is AWESOME. My customers love swiping their cards with it like it's a toy or a novelty item. Plus it's great to never have to turn down a customer because they only have cards and no cash.
The only crappy part about this product is that Verifone refers you to all these different companies for getting a merchant account and getting the payment gateway setup. I called 3 of them and never got a call back. The only way I was able to get setup was through a site I found through an Apple app store review for payware: [...]. They were able to get me up and running in under 24 hours--AWESOME! And now I just love having people pay me through my iPhone.

APC - Hub - 7 x Hi-Speed USB - desktop Review

The stand is very light and flimsy so any cable pressure will drag
the unit around or topple it. My stand in particular was not level
so I had to bend it a little to prevent it from wobbling.
An external 2.5" portable drive seems to work fine when plugged into
the hub.
However, even though it is a "powered" hub it does not provide enough
power to charge an iPad (to be fair a lot of PC laptops don't either).
An iPhone was also a bit fiddly as far as getting recognized by iTunes
and getting charged - likely because there is borderline enough power
for it.
Expect to have to charge iPads with a recent Mac's built-in USB port
or external power supply, and iPhones with a Mac/PC's built-in USB
port or external power supply.
The main reasons to get this hub over others (powered or unpowered) are
the good number of ports (7), the fact that it does seem to power external
laptop drives well, and the hopefully better quality and longevity over
other brands (I've read some scary reviews about other powered hubs frying
devices that were plugged into them).

I used to always get my passwords confused because even though I tried to use just a few passwords (one for my bank and credit card accounts, one for stuff like webmail, and one for sites that don't matter), different sites have different requirements. Some require a number or symbol, some don't. So I used variations of a password, but I could never remember which sites I used the variations for. And then I'd either have to request to receive an email that reset my password, or sometimes I'd even get locked out and then have to call customer service. Arghhh!
It takes a little practice to learn how to swipe your finger, but once you get it the Eikon always recognized me and got me into my password protected websites in a flash. I tested to see if my friends could get in... it wasn't scientific, but it was comforting to know they couldn't. There is a one-time "registration" of all your accounts, but once that's set up there's no looking back. I counted over 50 websites with passwords that I don't have to worry about anymore!

(More customer reviews)I bought the Mophie credit card reader rather than waiting two weeks for the free Intuit reader--Amazon had expedited shipping. After learning some tips on how to operate the device, it was a breeze. Just make sure that the volume is turned up, and that you swipe quickly, then the card should be accepted, and should not have to be keyed in. If swiped, you pay 1.7% to the credit card company, if keyed in, you pay 3% of the sale. Turn up the volume on your iPhone, and swipe quickly. If it still doesn't work, get near the window so that you have more bars, or a good service. That should help too. One more thing -- watch that you order for 3G or 4G iPhone. Apple sells this only for the 3G iPhone -- Amazon has it for both.

Brother IntelliFax 2820 Laser Fax Machine and Copier Review

(More customer reviews)If you're in the market for a fax machine this is the one. I also owned the Brother 2800. This is the new and revised version of the 2800. Apparently Brother does improve upon their faults. You can see my review on the 2800 and the downfalls. For a re-cap:
1. 2800 had paper jams when using old paper. The 2820 has a paper feeder like their printers which greatly reduces jams. (I also own brothers laser printer) Now I can use recycled (one-side already printed) paper and not have to deal with jams. Also 2820 holds much more paper in its tray, so you wont have to worry about running out.
2. 2820 has a new feed system which reduces jams when faxing out. I had problems faxing 20+ pages with the 2800, now none with 2820. However they say there is a limit to 20 pages (just add more pages as they feed through).
3. The only downfall is the toner is slightly more expensive. It does print more pages, but does cost a bit more. Fax machine is more expensive also.
Overall, if you don't want to deal with the 2800 problems then pay the extra money for the 2820 and feel confident with its performance. If money is an issue, get the 2800. Personally the few extra bucks is worth it over aggravation when trying to fax/receive.
Another added bonus feature: This fax can also connect to the computer through USB allowing to work as a printer. I currently have this set-up and works very well. Have no issues priting with this fax machine. Great feature if you don't want to buy a printer. (2800 does not have this feature)
