So I run a 30" inch monitor at 2560x1600, I'd like to try some of the surround stuff in the future but for now i just wanted a card that could max out modern games at that resolution.
It was between this and the evga which had slightly higher clock speeds but was a good bit more money and came with tshirts and crap I don't need.
SO I got it, and it's a big beast of a card, need a full size case for sure, and it's heavy but not ridiculous, it installed fine with no problems, the nvidia drivers downloaded normally and I was up and running with very little effort.
I immediately threw Crysis 1, Crysis 2, Dragon Age 2, Metro 2033, and Oblivion at the card at max settings to what can do what. Despite some claims on some reviews if I turned EVERYTHING to maximum there were a bit of issues I mainly think this is a result of trying to do 8x antialiasing at 2560x1600 on a high spec game, as at that resolution, AA kinda does nothing anyway. So I turned down AA to 2x or off in most games and don't notice a difference in quality. Other than that, it's flawless, It just eats through games, max settings, cutscenes, fighting, frantic fast action it's just so efficient you just don't think about it, you can really just immerse yourself in the game and never notice any graphics slowdowns or glitches of any kind.
I also needed a driver update for crysis 2 which initially was extremely glitchy but a new driver fixed it. Now I couldn't be happier, as a bonus, I took my old Nvidia 280 which is still a pretty strong card and made it a dedicated PhysX card. Nvidia detected that it was there and allowed me to simply check a box to make it my physX card. I read you used to have to plug something into that card even if not using it but that's not the case, it just sits there and crunches physics, which is cool although I'm not sure how to test the physics per-se yet, I guess I'll try some physics heavy titles... (ideas?)
All in all, a fantastic card, quiet, understated. There's an Asus utility that's supposed to be able to let you overclock and go crazy but honestly, there is NO game out that I can't max completely at totally stock settings (aside from the useless AA at that res in SOME titles) So I won't mess with it for now. Also the program didn't load properly but as I said, I don't plan to use it. The card is great, expensive as hell but great.

This is an excellent CPU for the price if you don't need a quad-core setup. My computer is mostly use for work and gaming, and E8400 has been able to handle everything that I've thrown at it.

Work:
I'm a web developer so my more CPU intense work applications are Photoshop CS and the Flex SDK (Eclipse IDE). The E8400 is more than enough to handle these applications along with several different browsers (IE, FF, Safari, etc.) all opened at the same time.
Gaming:
I mostly play RPGs and strategy games on my computer. Lately, I've been playing Fallout 3 and Mass Effect, both of which required fairly powerful systems when they were first released for PC. My E8400, 2GB of RAM, and 4770 512MB are able to handle both of these games smooth with high quality settings at 1920x1200.Pros:
- Fast and dual core.
- 45nm process means that it produces very little heat.
- Relatively inexpensive.
- Overclocks well.
Cons:
- No real cons for the processor itself, but some older Core 2 Duo motherboards only support the 65nm process Core 2 Duos, which are the E6xxx and E4xxx series. Before you buy an E8xxx series processor, make sure that your motherboard supports it first. You can find a chipset compatibility chart if you search the web for "List of Intel Chipsets".
