This is a much better solution for my home office than the old color all-in-one it replaced.
Overall, I am satisfied.
The pros:
- The paper feeder works very well, it is fast and no jamming so far.
No more manual feeding or missing pages.
- Fast scanning. Very impressive when large document has to be scanned.
- Fast printing
- Double-sided printing saves paper
- Takes USB dongles, instead of memory cards. I love it.
This is B/W only. For color printing, I have a color laser printer.
The Cons:
- The printer will only allow an exchange server and not a web based email
to scan to email. I use gmail and am disappointed. For security,
gmail supports TLS, this printer only supports SSL. Would give a FIVE if
Dell fixes this problem.
- I did not expect the memory and hard drive arrive separately.
- Even with short cuts, I have to press 4 keys to send a fax instead of
2 or 3 keys with the old one.
