(More customer reviews)The best and most effective tool for getting dust and lint off negatives and slides before they go into the scanner or enlarger.Cleans film without electrostatic charge builup that attracts more airborne particles. I know of nothing else that's even close to equally effective. Dramatically reduces time spent cloning/spotting/retouching. For digital scanner users, greatly reduces post-scan effort in situations where digital dust removal often fails or produces unwanted side effects (on B+W and on Kodachrome).
Pros: Produces negatives/slides that are very close to dust- and lint-free
Cons: Polonium cartridge needs replacing every 3-5 years, and proper disposal requires mailing old cartridge to a qualified disposal facility (free except for the envelope and stamp).
I can't imagine scanning 35mm film without one of these. I REALLY can't imagine wet darkroom printing without one.
